From the Pastor…
The month of May is upon us and there are a number of things happening at SBRC. I wanted to take some time to share with you all that will be happening in the coming days!
- The 7th Annual Preschool Tricky Tray will be held on May 18th. All proceeds benefiting the SBRC Preschool. Consider coming out and supporting this fundraiser.
- Communion Sunday is May 6th. As our usual tradition, the 1st Sunday of the month is when we celebrate this important Sacrament and we continue to invite/welcome all to join us around the table.
- Blanket Sunday will be held on May 13th. This annual event has been a wonderful way for the members/ friends of SBRC to participate in missions. Let us continue our support!
- The last day of Sunday School will be on May 20th. This service is a favorite with many at SBRC as the children participate and lead us in worship. Hope everyone joins us as we recognize our children for their hard work this past year as well as we thank those involved with the Christian education of our children.
- An Elders Meeting has been called for May 20th following worship. The purpose of this meeting is to meet with those in the Confirmation Class.
- Save the date!! On Sunday, June 3rd is Confirmation Sunday with the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Be sure to join and celebrate with us!!
The newsletter has much more information about these dates/happenings. Please be sure to update your calendars so that you don’t miss out on the fun!
In Christ's Service,

Note from the Treasurer
March 2012
The regular weekly offering receipts for March were $7,350 (weekly average: $1,838). We started the month with $3,976 in the checkbook in current expenses and ended the month with $2,441. This is good because in March we had to pay several quarterly bills (Pastor pension, Pastor equity, church insurance), and still finished the month in the black. Also, on March 31 we closed out our Flood account. The final cost was $42,962. We received enough donations to cover the entire cost. We did not have to take any money from our savings. This really says something about our congregation. We can now focus on getting back to other improvements we need to do (exterior painting, upgrading the bathrooms, flood prevention, etc.)
1st Qtr Comparison
1st Qtr 2012 Pledge Receipts: $23,122 1st Qtr 2012 Weekly Average: $1,779 1st Qtr 2011 Pledge Receipts: $22,843 1st Qtr 2011 Weekly Average: $1,757
