The South Branch Reformed Church Senior Choir sings at a recent Sunday Service.

In the
New Revised Standard Version version of the bible, Psalm
105:2 reads, “Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of
all his wonderful works.”
Music is a very important part of the worship service at
South Branch Reformed Church. It is through the Music Ministry that the congregation
is encouraged to be lifted up in praise to Almighty
God. While the congregation participates in the service
through singing hymns, the members of our choirs allow
the congregation to hear specially selected pieces and
to reflect on them as they are performed.
Below is a listing of the different Music Ministries currently offered at
South Branch Reformed Church. Each member of these choirs is a volunteer and spends
quite a bit of time rehearsing. The Adult Choir participates in the worship service each Sunday from September through June. The other choirs participate in worship services and holiday celebrations throughout the year. We are always look for more people to join.
Angel Choir
The Angel Choir consists of children from 3
years old to the first grade. These little ones are much appreciated as they
share with us what they have learned. It is so
wonderful to watch them giving praise to God that it
encourages each of us on our faith journey. Rehearsals
are held at 11:15 am in the Parlor on Sundays following the worship service.
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir consists of children in the
second through ninth grades. For some of the children this the next “step”
after Angel Choir. For others this is the first
introduction to singing. The members of this choir are
treat for the congregation as we listen to their anthems
of praise. Rehearsals are held at 11:15 am in the Parlor on Sundays following the worship service.
Senior Choir
The Senior Choir consists of individuals from the tenth
grade and older. This choir participates in the worship service each
Sunday (from September through June. As worship leaders, they
help the Pastor in leading the congregation through the
hymns for each Sunday and feed our souls through the
anthems. Rehearsals are held each Thursday evening at
7:30 pm in
the Parlor.
Junior Handbell Choir
The Junior Handbell Choir consists of children in the
fourth grade and older. This choir joyfully rings out their praise to God with
familiar hymns and songs. It is wonderful to watch
these children perform and to see how much they enjoy
playing the bells. Rehearsals are held on Sunday
morning at 9:00 AM in the Chapel.
